To guide and advance the professional development of members and all facility management professionals throughout their careers, providing the necessary tools and services to members in the Charlotte area.
To serve as the ultimate resource and representative for facility management.
The Charlotte Chapter
Today, the Charlotte Chapter of IFMA is approximately 175 members strong, including 20 Certified Facility Managers (CFM), 6 Facility Management Professionals (FMP), and 2 Sustainabilty Facility Professionals (SFP).
Our chapter was chartered on May 5, 1987, and we continue to enhance our programs, functions and members to be the premier Facility Manager’s resource of the Carolinas. Our Chapter will celebrate our 30th anniversary this year during our December, 2017 Holiday party.
Geographically our chapter serves the Greater Charlotte Metropolitan Area. We host 10 – 12 networking, educational, charitable and FUN events throughout the year.
Typically, our chapter holds its monthly luncheon meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, with a few exceptions. Each year our members and guests enjoy our widely popular and fun-filled charity Golf tournament. Please browse our Events page for more details, meeting dates, and locations.
Our Programs Committee works diligently throughout the year to plan a variety of guest speakers and interesting facility tours, all designed to promote the facility management profession and enhance our members’ roles as managers and business leaders.
As a chapter, we strive to maintain an emphasis on the networking needs and daily challenges of the professional facility manager, while still recognizing the importance of our local service providers and embracing their roles as a collective asset to our chapter.
Our Professional members represent a wide variety of business sectors and organizations in facilities management, such as utility/oil/gas companies, commercial banks, religious institutions, law firms, public & non-profit facilities, government entities, university & education institutions, engineering firms, industrial facility operations, mission critical environments, and commercial real estate groups.
Our Associate members represent many providers of facility management products and services, such as building materials, interior finishes and furnishings, cleaning and maintenance services, professional movers, HVAC operations, emergency restoration services, roofing experts, contract furniture dealers, audio visual providers and specialty consultants.
