The Digital Integrated Building Specialist (DIBS) will provide direct support to the on-site facilities team and indirect support to all building system vendors for maintenance, uptime, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, coordination, and other cyber security tasks.
This position will work closely with the building owner’s internal building systems group to integrate building technology asset management solutions and provide oversight to the building infrastructure technology program. The DIBS position will be the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the building network end user and other edge devices that are connected to the building network.
The DIBS will provide project management support for building network systems’ compliance and documentation for enhancements and modifications associated with connectivity to field and end user edge devices and computers.
Provide high level of expertise in Building Management System (BMS) and Building Automation System (BAS) applications and functionality.
Manage all building network edge devices not directly supported by building system vendor(s) to include patch management (firmware and software, version upgrades), hardware maintenance, installation, configuration, and end of life replacement.
Oversee all building network edge devices directly supported by building system vendor(s) to facilitate vendor responsibilities for patch management, hardware maintenance, installation, configuration, and end of life replacement
Provide subject matter expertise on all category 5 and 6 cabling, network switches, and connections to field edge systems and devices.
This position will participate in the after-hours on call support.
A Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university required, preferably in Computer Information Systems; five or more years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
An in-depth understanding and demonstrated expertise in building BMS / BAS including system architecture, design and communication strategies (BACnet, Modbus and other protocols) networking and system operation required.
A working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and basic knowledge of IP addressing and sub-NETs network security and network integration.
Ability to read and interpret network drawings and computer system diagrams.
